Along with New York and Tokyo, London is the one of the three most important global economic and commercial centres. London's economy generates approximately 19% of the UK's GDP. It's also has Europe's largest city economy. Alot of things contributed to London's economic progress. London's position as the capital of the British Empire and the Britain's proximity to the US were the earliar factors that helped it's economy sustain and for the growth of it's service class. But later it was the English law, the multi-cultural set up, business friendly environment and it's excellent transport system. London has six major business districts: the City, Westminster, Canary Wharf, Croydon, Camden & Islington and Lambeth & Southwark.
